Pretzel Pete, Inc. puts great importance on providing adequate investments in resources to achieve a Gluten-Free Management System, and to support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvements of a safe, quality gluten-free food program. Supporting quality programs are in place to ensure all gluten-free products are manufactured in conformity with all the requirements of the GFCO Gluten-Free Certification Program.

A wet cleaning sanitation program is in place that addresses the cleaning of all equipment and utensils prior to the start of a Gluten-Free product. Our procedures consist of cleaning the equipment, food contact surfaces and other areas of operation (where dedicated lines, equipment or areas for food preparation that contain gluten are not available) and disassembly and manual cleaning of equipment to remove trace amounts of gluten. Verification of the effectiveness of the cleaning is demonstrated, by swabbing, using the Hygiena Gluten TOX PRO Test Kit.

Furthermore, all gluten free raw materials are tested upon original purchase, prior to the start of the bulk seasoning production and/or after ingredient changes. To verify the absence of gluten, the raw material is also tested by using the Hygiena Gluten TOX PRO Test Kit.
