Shroomeats started in a home kitchen in Bangkok Thailand for the Founder's strict vegetarian mother. Dissaya wanted to be sure her mom was eating nutritious and delicious meals without having to create multiple meals for her family. She used shiitake mushrooms because of their nutrient dense profile as well as sustainable footprint. With just a few other ingredients, a shroom ball was made and used in most of their dishes as the "meat" so everyone could enjoy mealtime together as a family. Dissaya along with two of her friends, Mary and Pamas, wanted to share this with more than just family, so they created their company Friendly Foods Intl to brand this shroom ball into Shroomeats. Now available to all home kitchens as Shroomeats Mushroom Balls, Patties, and Shred-It.
